1 Hare Court welcomes two new members

We’re delighted to announce that two outstanding family barristers, Peter Mitchell KC and Amber Sheridan, have joined our ranks thereby taking our overall number of members to 52.

The arrival of Peter and Amber, from 29 Bedford Row, further enhances our already distinguished expertise in matrimonial finance, children cases, civil partnership and cohabitation proceedings, and wider family matters including dispute resolution, ensuring clients continue to receive exceptional advocacy, advice and resolution in even the most complex and high-value cases.

Peter, who was called to the Bar in 1996 and took silk in 2020, is acknowledged as one of the top family barristers, having appeared in the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal in a series of landmark cases including Agbaje, Sharland, Prest, Brack and Hart. Specialising in complicated, high-stakes financial cases, often involving intricate asset structures, jurisdictional disputes and disclosure issues, he combines sharp legal intellect with outstanding advocacy and client care. Additionally, Peter is an acclaimed private FDR evaluator known for his ability to achieve settlement in the hardest fought matters.

Amber, who was called in 2008, is a sought-after family barrister with a busy practice spanning all aspects, but with a speciality in financial claims, including Schedule 1 provision. She has developed notoriety in cases with international dimensions, regularly appearing in difficult Part III MPFA 1984 proceedings, and has a sideline in advising in professional negligence claims. Amber also has a formidable record of promoting settlement when she sits as a private FDR evaluator.
