Calum Smith wins ’Young Barrister of the Year’ at Financial Remedies Awards 2025

Calum Smith has been named ‘Young Barrister of the Year’ at Class Legal’s Financial Remedies Awards 2025, held on 16 October. This prestigious award recognises outstanding individuals who have demonstrated excellence and innovation in the field of financial remedies.

The Financial Remedies Awards celebrate individuals pushing the boundaries of best practice in matrimonial finance, ADR and related areas. Winners are chosen for their integrity, professional achievement and influence in shaping financial remedies law.

To be shortlisted, and selected, as the ‘Young Barrister of the Year’ is a significant accolade, reflecting not only scholarly insight but also commitment to client care and advocacy ability.

Calum’s expertise & practice

Calum is a specialist in financial remedies, with a strong track record in applications under the Matrimonial Causes Act 1973, Part III of the Matrimonial and Family Proceedings Act 1984, Schedule One to the Children Act 1989, Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996, and Family Law Act 1996.

He is a frequent contributor to the Financial Remedies Journal and delivers lectures about matrimonialisation and short marriages.
