We’re delighted that Nichola Gray KC, Joint Head of Chambers and specialist in complex financial remedies, has once again been invited to join the judging panel for the Spear’s Awards 2026.
Following her role as a judge for the Family Lawyer of the Year category in 2025, Nichola will judge three categories this year:
• Family Lawyer of the Year
• Emerging Leader of the Year
• Private Client Innovation of the Year
The 2026 Spear’s Awards celebrate achievement across the private client sector, with 18 categories recognising individuals, firms and organisations for their work, leadership and innovation.
A broad view of achievement
Nichola’s three categories offer different perspectives on achievement, with Family Lawyer of the Year recognising an outstanding family lawyer, and Emerging Leader of the Year focusing on those making a significant impact early in their careers. Private Client Innovation of the Year celebrates firms or teams introducing new approaches, technology, services or processes that deliver a demonstrable benefit.
Together, the categories span established expertise, emerging talent and innovation – allowing Nichola to assess achievement at different stages and across different aspects of the profession.

For Nichola, the judging role is a chance to draw on her experience at the Bar while gaining insight into new talent, ideas and developments across the private client sector.
