Mini-Pupillage

We offer mini-pupillages to candidates who are interested in (i) family law; and (ii) becoming family advocates.

These mini-pupillages are not assessed and are designed to allow candidates to gain an insight into practising as a family barrister and experience life in Chambers.

Travel expenses are available for mini-pupils who live outside of London and who need funding to be able to attend.

Applicants for mini pupillage must be at undergraduate level or above and demonstrate an interest in family law.

Applications should be made by way of CV and typed covering letter (limited to one page), marked for the attention of the Pupillage Committee, and emailed to kathryn@1hc.com.

Applications for mini-pupillages are assessed twice per year:

  1. For mini-pupillages between October and January, applications should be submitted between 1 and 31 July.
  2. For mini-pupillages between February and July, applications should be submitted between 1 and 31 January.

Applications outside these windows will not be considered.

Applicants for pupillage are not required to complete a mini-pupillage in Chambers before applying.
