GO v YA judgment out now

Phillip Blatchly and Sophia Paraskeva (instructed by Ben Holmes, Lisa Jones and Connor Canavan of Jones Nickolds Solicitors) represented the applicant, and Richard Sear KC and Henrietta Boyle (instructed by David Gentle of Gentle Mathias LLP) represented the respondent.

The case centred around the value of the husband’s business which sold works of art (many by famous artists). HHJ Hess, sitting as a Deputy High Court Judge, considered how to treat fragile valuations of artworks and the extent to which the rule in Browne v Dunn (that a party is normally required to challenge an expert’s conclusions) applies to financial remedy proceedings.

GO v YA [2024] EWFC 411 now available on BAILII.
