In the spotlight: Nicholas Wilkinson

Nicholas Wilkinson is ranked as a leading junior in Chambers and Partners 2025 and in the Legal 500 2025, which say:

Nick is highly respected as one of the go-to senior juniors at the Band 1 rated 1 Hare Court. Leading legally complex and high value disputes, primarily from the breakdown of domestic relationships, but also jurisdiction disputes, nuptial agreements and children matters. The wealth has ranged up to the “immeasurable” and include immunity issues, complex company valuations, illiquid and multifaceted corporate structures, tax and trust issues.

Nick usually acts alone but has been frequently led by KCs and led juniors on 4 cases in 2024. He is often instructed in cases on his own against KCs and has 25 reported decisions to date.

Since 2023, Nick has represented members of 3 ruling families, as sole counsel against KCs in 2 of them, bringing unique challenges such as immunity and enforcement difficulties where inimitable influence is wielded. As a result, he has appeared in leading decisions in the Family Division on immunity, needs-based awards, Sched 1/Part III (appearing in the top 3 cases with the highest reported awards) and trusts, with two of his cases having involved petitions to the Supreme Court.
